about me
Rather than use this space as a sort-of CV, I thought I'd share a version of my pepeha. I'd love to hear yours too (you can always email me at soph.lynne@gmail.com).

Ko tēnei taku mihi ki ngā tāngata whenua o te rohe nei

Nō reira, tēnā koutou katoa
I'm Soph. I was born and (mostly) raised in South Auckland, and am living in Maungawhau, on Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei land. My whānau are of Irish and English ancestry. My parents are Karen and David, and my brother is Ewan.
I live with my partner Josh and our cat Robin. Josh is Rangitāne, Welsh, Scottish and English. Robin is a tabby.
I'm a queer, non-binary person. My pronouns are they/them. I'm also a disabled person, and proudly autistic.
I love swimming in the moana, re-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and reading. I’ve had a deep love for Jane Austen since I was a baby (my first sentence was allegedly “Mister Darcy”) and have possibly Aoteroa’s largest collection of different editions of Pride and Prejudice.
Above all, I love my friends and whānau. They are what make life worth living. Anything I write is dedicated to them.
